ENGLAND - cover with strip of three of 2 pence together with 10 pence "Embossed" dated Dumferline 2.11.1850 forwarded in closed bag via Hamburg and Denmark to Kiel, from where it is forwarded by the steamship "Nordcap" via "Sandøsund 10.11.1850" to Drammen, Norway. The cover is marked "Part-Paid More to Pay" on the front, possibly because the cover has been regarded as a winter-rate cover, and then 2 pence more should be paid. Rare and spectacular item. |
