* | NK 19 - 4 skilling Posthorn - horizontal strip of three = 12 skilling cancelled "Frederiksstad 8.5.1874" on a beautiful single rate cover sent in open mail to Nova Scotia. On the front red "London Paid 10 MY 74" and transit mark "Halifax MY 29 74" on the reverse. The postage rate for this cover was 16 skilling, which means that one 4 skilling stamp has been removed. In spite of this - a spectacular item to a very unusual destination. Only three skilling covers to Canada are recorded. |  |
