Transit mark "Sandøsund 9.5.1863" on the reverse. On the front "4R" (4 Reales) in red which is spanish postage to be paid by the receiver. For a long period of time it was only allowed to pay covers to the French/Spanish boarder. A colourful and top quality item. Certificate: F.C.Moldenhauer.

The cover has been calculated as a double weight cover prior to arriving France, and triple weight cover within France. One of the highest frankings registered to Spain.
